Ironman Triathlon - Sunday 14 July11-07-2019
The Ironman UK Triathlon is coming to Bolton on Sunday 14 July. It's a gruelling event, designed to defeat all but the toughest athletes - if you're taking part, we wish you the best of luck!
The event means that the A666, the road our buses use to travel between Bolton and Darwen, will be closed around Egerton.
Through the daytime on Sunday, the 1 will be running between Blackburn and Darwen (Jacks Key Drive) as normal, with a shuttle service running between Egerton turning circle and Bolton. Because the road is closed between Egerton and Darwen, and there's no diversion route we can use, there'll be no buses running from Darwen to Bolton through the daytime.
The first bus leaving Blackburn at 8am and Darwen at 8.25am will be able to run through to Bolton, but no others after that until 4.25pm.
Buses will be running as normal between Bolton and Egerton, with the first bus running through to Darwen and Blackburn leaving Bolton at 4.30pm.
In Bolton town centre, we'll be taking a slightly different route, so you'll need to catch your bus from either Bradshawgate or the Interchange.
