Disruption and diversion to Mainline buses in the Earby area

08-09-2010

On Friday 10th September the funeral will be taking place of Lance Corporal Jordan Bancroft, who was recently killed in action in Afghanistan.

The cortege of 11 vehicles is likely to increase to many more as the hearse is followed from Northolme Estate through Earby to All Saints Church and then to Salterforth for burial. Many pedestrians are also expected to follow the procession.

The police have advised us that disruption to traffic is likely in the Earby area, with some Mainline buses being delayed slightly.

We need to ensure that our buses don't meet the funeral procession in the Northolme Estate area, and for this reason all buses between Barnoldswick and Earby, and between Earby and Barnoldswick will run via Kelbrook roundabout, not via Northolme Estate. This diversion will apply between 1030 and 1230.
