Mainline

Mainline offers high-frequency services along the main route between Colne and Padiham, with links to other towns in Pennine Lancashire and North Yorkshire.

Our smart, high quality service runs up to every 7-8 minutes between Colne and Padiham. The route extends east and west to serve Accrington, Clitheroe, Barnoldswick, Skipton and Keighley.

Buses show a range of numbers between 21 and 29, the number being determined by the final destination of the bus.

All Mainline buses are easy-access types with a step-free entrance. There are dedicated places for buggies and wheelchair users. All passengers can enjoy a comfortable journey with bright modern interiors and part leather seats new in 2009, when over half of the vehicles in the fleet were also replaced.

Main Lion mascot is a roaring success...

He's big, he's furry and he's become the new face of Mainline. Our superhero Main Lion mascot is already proving a huge success with young customers as he helps to promote Mainline services among local people.

The Main Lion was launched on 4th June 2010, with an event that encouraged children to come along dressed in their favourite hero outfit. People were then invited to vote for their favourite mini superhero via local radio station 2BR's website. The winner, Zac Fraser, will have his picture on the back of a Mainline bus.

We were inspired to create our own superhero after we supported the 2BR Local Heroes awards. The ceremony recognises the unsung heroes of East Lancashire in a range of categories.

Keep a look out for Main Lion as he continues to support promotional events in the months to come!
