Latest Updates

A revolution is coming to Accrington and Blackburn

27th July 16

Using the bus to travel between Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Blackburn just became a proper no-brainer! We're bringing brand new, state of the art buses to the 6&7, ready to go hand in hand with major improvements to the roads and facilities along the routes.

The amazing new buses will be equipped with all the latest technology and creature comforts, including superfast free WIFI, USB power sockets at every seat, next-stop announcements and stylish designer interiors. What's more, they'll have pioneering 'countdown' destination displays, to let you know exactly when the bus will depart!

The buses will also introduce our new name – The Blackburn Bus Company – reflecting our proud heritage of serving Lancashire since 1929.

It's not just the buses that are changing. You'll soon be zipping fast through the rush hour traffic using dedicated lanes for our buses, which are opening as part of the £40 million Pennine Reach rapid transit scheme. The bright and airy new bus stations in Accrington and Blackburn town centres are already open, so you can jump off the bus and head straight into the shops, or await your ride home in comfort and style.

Why not join us at our launch events for the sparkling new 6&7 to see what all the fuss is about? We'll be in Accrington Broadway on Friday 29 July, and at Blackburn bus station on Saturday 30 July. Come along and see for yourself - we guarantee you'll be well chuffed!

The new timetable for the 6&7 will be available soon.
